Mary’s Ray of Hope was a company I started in 2013. After losing my husband to pancreatic cancer I was given a bear made from one of his shirts. This bear has brought me comfort during some dark days and I wanted to be able to provide this comfort to other people missing a loved one.
I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember and with a little practice I knew I would be able to make these bears for people. I also knew that I could provide other items for people as well. I began making small and large bears, quilts, pillows, and other items that people requested from clothing of their loved ones.
The most important part of this endeavor for me is that a portion of the profits from each item I make gets donated to cancer research. Being able to play a small role in finding a cure for cancer is the best part for me.
